On Tuesday I attended the Caldwell County foreclosure auction in Lockhart — my first foreclosure auction in roughly 15 years. Hendricks Real Estate will be assuming management of an RV park asset for one of our bank clients following the foreclosure, so I was there to observe the process and assist with some of the post-auction administrative steps.

After the auction, I made a trip to the Caldwell County Clerk’s office to help finalize some of the documentation. While there, I had the chance to look through some of the historic deed books — many dating back to the late 1800s. It’s always fascinating to see how property ownership was recorded long before digital record keeping.
Trips like this are a reminder that real estate is as much about history and process as it is about buildings and land.

And of course, no visit to Lockhart would be complete without a stop at the world-famous Black’s BBQ. All in a day of the life of a Central Texas Property Manager!
